yesterday, i talked to dr. cao at our advising meeting. today as i’m walking to animal physiology, i see ms. felicia walking into the post office at the union. we say hi to each other and catch up for a few before we both had to dip. i met ms. felicia in 2011 thru ms. barbara at the post office in prospector whenever i’d send letters overseas. her son is about to be 4. random, but i remember seeing her outside of walmart in concord after i had met mr. c during her pregnancy.
since 2011, life has changed for the both of us. she asked when i’d be done and i told her may 2020 finally. ms. felicia reassured me that it was alright and that she was happy i came back. that made me feel better about the academic predicament my life is currently in. i’m glad her son is doing well and i’m thankful she is still around to talk to.
when i look back at my experience in college, ms. felicia and ms. barbara were two constants i’ve never realized were always there for me. i wish they knew how much our conversations my freshman year meant to me.
we’re so far away from 2011, we really are.
