carolina mall, 6.25.20

we went to carolina mall in concord/kannapolis. i’ve never been before, but as we pulled in, it seemed like a dead mall. while walking inside, it was pretty dead and there were stores closed. it’s small, only one story, but i love malls like this. walking into books-a-million felt like we were in a different time, like early 2000’s. it’s difficult to explain, but with social media prevalent and concord mills usually packed, it felt good shopping without all the hustle and bustle and people with their phones out acting a fool. plus, these small malls remind me of cary town center, north gate, etc. so there’s a bit of nostalgia hidden within these places.

plus i like the feeling of being surrounded by distance.

it’s comfortable to me.
