yesterday, i went to mcdonald’s after the gym. because i had to go to target after, i decided to eat at mcdonald’s. there were two kids doing tiktok dances in front of the security camera, and there was a father/daughter duo eating in front of me. when they got up to leave, i realized the daughter had down syndrome. it was heartwarming because the father was elderly, and he had trouble walking, but he still took his daughter out to eat. he zipped her jacket, held her hand, and made sure she didn’t slip on the ice outside the restaurant. it goes to show, being a parent never stops. seeing that made my day and it made me think of how even though i’m grown, my parents have never stopped being parents.
they may not zip up my coat (literally), but they do make sure i’m warm in this cold world of ours.
