we went to uncle dave’s community garden, then to
his house afterwards. we ate dinner, talked about the office, movies we loved,
then listened to mom and dad talk about time in cambodia. hearing the stories
from their time in cambodia has me piecing together a puzzle to questions
i’ve always been hesitant to ask. everyone has struggles but what they were
able to turn life into with the lemons they were handed is something special.
before we left, uncle dave took me to his front yard to look for bats. i didn’t
even know bats lived up here, but sure enough, one flew above our heads. i
think that’s the first time i’ve ever seen a bat.
not bad for a sunday night before the work week.
