919 at 5 guys, 7.31.23
i went to chipotle to get a bowl, but they didn’t have vinaigrette. this was like the third time the past week they didn’t have any. must be a shortage. anyhow, after leaving, i thought of how i wanted a burger. i went to 5 guys in stoneham. i didn’t think stoneham was as close as it was to me, but i was pleasantly surprised when i pulled up. i got the strawberry milkshake (5 guys has the best shakes btw), a cheeseburger, and some fries. as i was waiting for my food, i looked around at the decorations. one of the magazines on the wall was cary magazine. i immediately thought of home, but i had to take a closer look to make sure. i saw apex and knew it was from 919. they had a mention of how 5 guys was one of the best burgers in town. the only 5 guys in cary i know of is the one by barnes & nobles. justin, our neighbor across the street, worked there in the mid-late-2000’s. i remember him saying how it got super busy because obama went to 5 guys and said it was good. i don’t know if it’s true or if he went to the cary location (probably not), but that’s what i remember. years later, when i finally would try 5 guys, it was pretty damn good.
tonight, was no different, so maybe chipotle wasn’t the move after all.
