as i’m walking to class up craver road, a black civic pulls up next to me. i don’t make anything of it because it’s not uncommon for people to be dropped off by the steps in front of woodward. in fact i’ve seen a few classmates get dropped off at that exact spot before. the civic is moving at the same speed i’m walking, so i turn and it’s a guy holding his hand out at me from the driver’s side. yo, when i tell you i ain’t seen dude in a decade, i ain’t seen dude in a decade family!!! it’s my g john. we used to work at andy’s together 10 years ago. apex high cat. i meet him at an inlet near the top of the hill. john said he saw me walking and he had to double take for a minute. turns out, he’s graduating next month, but is staying around the area. he actually stays at aspen, near where i stay at. funny thing is, he asked about kyle and b. i told him i just spoke to b a few days ago. we both had to get to class so we exchanged numbers. i told him we’d get it next week, and that we’d have to hoop.
i couldn’t believe i saw bro, last time i seen my guy life was so different.
