we met in providence today. it was my first time at providence place mall and that mall is beautiful. the only only thing i don’t like is the escalators. they’re not by any walls and they are short and narrow. i’m scared of heights, so it was bad for me, but we still made it. we ate at some japanese spot after the mall and went for dessert right around the corner. we ate cake in my car and talked until our night was over. i think i like providence more than i do boston. perhaps it’s because i’ve only been here a few times, but prov has left a great impression every time.

i pulled up to lynnfield thinking i’d get a salad. as soon as i get there, i’m thinking maybe i want a chinese buffet instead because i hadn’t eaten all day. i found one in malden 16 minutes away. i got sat, i ate about 3 plates, then had some ice cream and a slice of cake. it was mid to be honest. whole time i was thinking of how much better sweet green would’ve been. this is like the 3rd time it’s happened in a week and probably around the 5th or 6th in the past month. i do think my habits are changing, especially my taste in food. if i could, i would eat sweetgreens or b.goods every day then have some acai bowl or ice cream for dessert. damnit, i hate wasting money on bad food lol.
sweetgreens for dinner tomorrow it is.

there was this girl who wanted to be a dentist in my senior seminar back in college. her presentation was about her journey to where she’s at and what she wanted to do in the future, but one thing she mentioned was that charcoal isn’t good for your teeth because it’s abrasive. i remember that specifically for whatever reason. i didn’t take heed to her advice, because at the time charcoal was a fad for oral hygiene. they said it would whiten your teeth better than regular toothpaste/toothbrushes. i never got charcoal toothpaste, but i always brushed my teeth with charcoal toothbrushes. that was until a few months ago. my oral routine goes as follows:
am - brush with whitening toothpaste
pm - floss, brush with non-whitening toothpaste
when i got the electric toothbrush late last year, i began to move my regular toothbrush to pm only. the issue is my regular toothbrush was made with charcoal bristles which means i used to brush my teeth twice a day with charcoal toothbrushes. i noticed at some point last year, my teeth began to feel sensitive when i would drink even room temperature drinks. i gave up the charcoal toothbrush for a regular toothbrush during my evening routine back in february or so. i also began using enamel protection toothpaste last month and i can tell a difference in sensitivity. i type all of this to say, i should’ve listened to my classmate way back when and because i didn’t, here were are.
i know this is random, but it’s just some thoughts that came across my mind on a chilly april thursday evening.

between the scheduling of jury duty, missing the first day, being told i was rescheduled then coming to find out i wasn’t through a notice threatening fines, then showing up to jury duty anxious of being late because it was in framingham, i grew to have ptsd because today i received another notice from jury duty in the mail. thinking they made a clerical error, i opened it and it was simply a notice that i had served. thank God. i thought i was about to have to go all the way to framingham again, but it looks like i’m good for the next 3 years.
then i’ll have to make that hectic morning commute through i-95 again, smh.

i took the day off and went to dinner with my parents and ta. we went to feng shui in burlington, which is always a good meal. that’s our go to spot whenever we all go out to eat. instead of orange chicken, i got the crispy pad thai. it was decent, but the noodles threw me off. still, i was able to have mongolian beef, which is one of my favorites. on the way home, i stopped by chick-fil-a to get bagel two sandwiches because when it’s my birthday, we celebrate him as well. we fed him one of the sandwiches when we got home and he loved it. i think this year i’m just grateful to be further away from the things that weren’t meant for me in the first place. last year, i was going through things, but this year, not so much. i get by with the help of the people i love, and i hope they know that.
let’s make this next year the best one yet.

can you believe it’s been 5 boston marathons since i’ve moved up here? in what has become an annual tradition, i worked from home today due to the city being shut down. i’ve been seeing a lot of boston marathon tiktoks lately and it’s got me interested. i don’t know if i would train to run it, but maybe one day. who knows, i don’t want to ever rule anything of personal accomplishment out in this life. i did see that they run a 5k before, which i totally can do. they also do a midnight bike ride of the marathon trail the night before, which really interested me. i just have to plan next april better than i did this one.
i’d definitely be down for the bike ride and the 5k, so maybe that’ll give me something else to look forward to other than my annual work from home day next year.

i spent the whole day getting scratches out of the interior the sequoia. i fucked up a few spots by cooking them, but overall it looks better than it did. i cleaned the mats, then put the back seats back in after a car wash. one of the best feelings is the first drive after washing/cleaning your car. it took me all day, but i was able to watch a 3-part documentary on the gilgo beach murders as i was working on the sequoia. easy sundays are the best, especially when they feel productive without the pressure.
time for an evening walk, dinner, and a cup of milky way from richardson’s.

we pulled up to coquette tonight. i love the ambiance and the environment, it’s one of my favorites in the city. the food is also very good. we ordered bread service, lamb meatballs (one of the best apps i’ve had at any place), flat iron steak, and fries. the waiter treated us to some strawberry dessert which was actually good. it was light in consistency as well, which was perfect because i was full from the entree’s. we didn’t end up leaving until about 11pm. there were talks of plans after, but home was calling my name.
definitely have to come back sooner rather than later.

i went to wingstop to treat myself. first, they changed their fries. they’re thinner and not as good as previously. second, it wasn’t hitting like it was before lent. third, the sweet tea fountain was out. maybe this is a one off, but wingstop was not that good tonight. i was let down, but maybe that’s a sign from the Universe to stay on track with the healthy eats.
i couldn’t help but to think as i pulled out the parking lot that sweetgreen would’ve been much better but as good as wingstop has been to me, i owe them a second chance post-lent.
