drake is the greatest of all time man. he dropped a website with 100 gigs worth of material. 3 new songs, alternate album covers, behind the scenes of multiple albums, and much more. there’s even behind the scenes footage of the recording of over my dead body. that song is so incredible, and the writing is nothing short of amazing. there’s even footage of him rapping the resistance. this guy has created so many timestamps in my life since i was 17, over half my life. it feels good to be a drake fan because we are never in a drought. seeing all these studio sessions inspires me so much. one day i want the world to embrace me on a grandiose scale, and when they do, i promise to keep giving them everything i can. from the writing to the music, to the movies, to the clothing, to the photography, to whatever i can.
i’m ready for it.

back to work today. sujeet and i were putting in work on the third floor with 3 simultaneous biotinylations going on. we didn’t eat lunch until 4:00pm, at which alex came through and brought us bread that he made from scratch. the bread he makes is top-tier, award-winning if i say so myself. i didn’t end up leaving until 6:40pm. the good news is there was no traffic heading home, the bad news is it was a long monday.
let’s hope the rest of the week doesn’t follow suit.

there’s been a lot of hate on noah lyles lately and today he won the 100 by .005 of a second. out of all the olympic competitions, the mens 100m was probably the one i was looking forward to the most. noah’s energy is contagious and i love it. he brought the gold back home, even to people from the united states that was hoping he’d lose. they say he’s better at the 200m, and there hasn’t been a runner from the states since 2004 to win both the 100m and 200m. i’m hoping noah gets it done this year and brings a 2nd gold home.
big noah lyles fan here.

my nose piercing has been sinking for the past two weeks. i’ve had it since february, so it doesn’t make any sense why it’s sinking. i dm'ed arcadia piercing last week but didn’t have time to stop by until today. it was such a headache to find parking in that area, but after 20 minutes of searching, the job was complete. i walked-in and the ladies were so kind. they were able to switch out my piercing on the spot and give me a new one. i’ve always wanted a white gold pave diamond, but the place where i got my original piercing only had yellow gold with a cz. they also switched my piercing from a corkscrew to a flatback labret. it feels much better and much lighter, but damn when she took the original piercing out it hurt crazyyyyyyyy. she said that there was build-up on my original piercing on the inside so that may have pulled the piercing down. i tried to clean my nose with a cotton swab every night, but i obviously didn’t do a good job at all lmao. 30 minutes later, i was out and on my way to get something to eat and hang out with the usual suspects.
here’s to hoping it heals fast and without complications.
i’m excited to have the exact piercing i want for my nose, now it’s time to do the same for my ear.

there was a notification that troubled spirits had 5 shazams over the past week. the countries were norway, bulgaria, spain, and vietnam! this has me so excited for the project to come out and to keep going. it’s a slow start, but hopefully a humble beginning to a great career in music. coming home lateee is coming soon, and though this is my debut project, i’m already so excited for the writing and music for the next one.
if you’re reading this, thanks for reading and thanks for listening.
let’s change the world together.

smartlabs provides lunch every thursday. today, it was pizza. i saw a guy earlier who works for smartlabs and goes to the work gym. he said he hopes they order the fried dough because it’s unbelievably good. when they delivered the pizzas, we caught eye contact and he pointed to an aluminum tray. once i looked, he opened it a little and it was the fried dough. i went to try a piece and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. it was delicious. the dough was fried like a pizza roll but had butter/cinnamon/powdered sugar on it. i took a cup and we ate outside the west lobby. the pizza was actually very good. the place name is big daddy’s and on my cheat day, i’ll have to give them an order (or two) of their fried dough.

i replaced the window molding on the sequoia today. it’s the small, yet subtle details which make cars look cleaner and newer. the molding has been driving me crazy for some time as it is rotting out, but today everything is brand new. the sequoia is so timeless to me. it may be the most beautiful suv of all time, seriously. i’m so happy my parents bought it new in 2004, then passed it to me in 2017. the crazy part is they almost bough a highlander. i remember sitting with chan at the dealership listening to music on our new cd players our parents had bought for us at the time. good times i wish i could go back to, but since i can’t, driving the sequoia will have to suffice for now.
after all this time, she still cleans up so well for being 20 years old.

sometimes i get tired of listening to music, especially because i write and record. today, at the yym i had my headphones out and switched the televsion to dateline nbc. they have a dateline channel that plays episodes back to back to back all day. it feels good to workout without headphones and it’s also refreshing to workout to something other than music. in one of the episodes, they found a burned up body in a car that was on fire. the body was burned up bad, but they identified the victim through a tattoo. the story goes that him and his wife were having marriage issues which led to custody issues of their daughter. the crazy part is he was audio/voice recording their interactions leading up to his murder without her knowing. her mom and dad ended up being accomplices, but they got caught and locked up. that episode made my workout go by so quick.
i can’t wait to see what’s on tomorrow’s episode.

i tried a new indian spot tonight because i had never seen it before in woburn. they were pretty good, but still no maya. the good thing is they are open later and it’s a nice change of pace from the usual. i felt good trying a new place, stepping out of my comfort zone a bit on this monday night.

i love the olympics. it’s the best of the best in human history. think of it. in. human. history. how unbelievable is that? my favorite summer competitions are swimming and track & field. today the 400m mens swimming final was electric. there is this kid from france who won gold easily and it was so exciting to watch. usa got bronze, so i’m definitely proud of that.
there are a few more swimming trials later on today, so i know how i’ll be spending the rest of my sunday.
