after 3 weeks of losing, we made it back into the win column today. went 3-1 in hooping and celebrated with chipotle afterwards.
feels good to get back in the win column.

you know the old riddle that goes something like “if a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?” though it’s a good riddle and i believe there’s no wrong answer, today as i’m walking bagel at ipswich, a tree (or a large branch) falls as we’re walking past it. talk about timing. i noticed something was moving in my peripheral, then when i caught on, it had fell to the ground and made a loud thump. i took my headphones off and looked around to see if anyone had seen it, or heard it, and nobody was around except for myself and bagel.
i still don’t know the answer to the riddle but talk about timing.

ironically i wrote about forgetting lunch yesterday and that’s exactly what i did this morning. i took the chance and went to b. goods. i got the southwest salad, except this time i added extra chicken and a boiled egg, then took out the roasted corn. shit was so fucking good.
this’ll be the move at least once a week from here on out.

i went to chipotle after the gym today. they didn’t have the vinaigrette, so i went to b. goods down the road. the only other time i have ever been to b. goods, i ordered a burger and it was like they randomized my toppings because it wasn’t even close to what i ordered lol. i got the southwest salad, a side of fries, and a strawberry/banana smoothie with a scoop of protein. everything was good, especially the salad. i really enjoyed the salad. they had toasted corn which i wasn’t a fan of, but next time i’ll get it without. they have a b. goods by work, which will be convenient on days i forget lunch. i’m trying to make a conscious effort to eat better and not let my workouts go to waste.
though today is sunday, so i’ll treat myself to some ice cream before the copa final later this evening.

i checked my phone before dinner and found out trump was shot. a bullet grazed his ear, and he popped back up and pumped his fist. i was so confused. he was literally a centimeter from being assassinated. crazy times we’re living in, smh.
i know every day is history, but today was a doozy.

last year, i went through this slides/sandals phase. well, it isn’t a phase because i’m still in it. i love anything that’s comfortable as well as convenient to slip-on and go. i love crocs, sandals, slippers, etc. you get the point. today, i picked up a mule from nike. it’s called the acg rufus. they are very comfortable and might be my new go to when i step out the house. as soon as i got back to my car, i put them on for the drive home and it was wonderful lol.
i don’t care what anyone says, being comfortable is the wave no matter how goofy it can look at times.

sometimes when i don’t get any sleep, i forget what day it is, which is the predicament i’m currently in.
is it friday, yet??

i took money to newbury street today. we spent a few hours walking around from one end to the other and to copley place through prudential. i got a boston marathon shirt from new balance. they didn’t have large but had an xl. since they weren’t restocking, i tried on the xl and was able to swing it. i got some galbi flavored doritos from some asian store, which i’m excited to try during late-night craving. we also went to fenway and watched the athletics beat the red sox. i don’t watch baseball, but being at fenway was a vibe. i loved it. the tickets were $38 a piece, so i’ll definitely be back to catch a few more games before the season ends.
now that i’m exploring the city, maybe boston isn’t so bad afterall…

we pulled up to the north end for some italian food. it was a small restaurant, but we were seated on the second floor. as we were ordering, the family next to us tells us the portion sizes are huge. they show us their table and they have meatballs, calamari, and a few other things. the entree’s come in and the portion sizes are gigantic. we all looked at each other like how are we going to finish. that’s when they told us they couldn’t take it home because they are traveling. it was a mom, a dad, a son, and a daughter. they were in town for their daughter for harvard. then, we find out they are from minnesota. i tell them i have family in savage and they knew where that was. i think they were from east of the cities if i’m remembering correctly. the son compliments my shoes and i look at him and return the compliment. i had some rick’s i just ordered and he had some yeezy 350’s. i’ve never had a pair so i’ve always been curious about them. he says they’re comfortable and that he has a bunch of shoes he has outgrew. if i had to guess, he was 10 or 11. then the sister tells us how she buys him shoes that she likes for his birthday because he outgrows them and gives her the shoes lmaoooooooo. that had me crying it was so funny. after the end of our meal, we wished them well as we were walking out. i told money that was a beautiful family and that the husband had won in life. everybody in that family had great energy. i really want my family to be like that someday. of course, life isn’t perfect, but they had it together.
great energy, great vibes, great conversation, and great food on this warm tuesday night in the north end.

i ordered a sparkling yuzu lemonade at earl’s tonight. it was one of the better mocktails i’ve had in a while. minutes later, the waiter dropped by with another sparkling yuzu lemonade. i was thinking how he was reading my mind, though i didn’t order one. he looked at the glass on the table and said an extra one was made and that the one in his hand was on the house. i told him i appreciated it. then when i sipped it, it was so bitter. i almost thought it had alcohol in it, but luckily that wasn’t the case. i wasn’t going to complain because it was free, but damn did that bitterness catch me off-guard lmao. we went to jp licks afterwards to wash away the bitterness with some ice cream and walked around assembly as it was nice out.
with nights like these, mondays aren’t as bad as they’re made out to be.
