happy 11th birthday to my son. originally, i wanted to go to the beach, but since it was raining, we stayed home for the first half of the day. the clouds ended up clearing out, so we went to the lake in wakefield. i’ve been wanted to check out the lake and walk around it, but today bagel and i finally had the chance. in total, it was 3 miles around the lake. quite a few people were out and about walking, running, enjoying a break from the rain. we took photos after our walk, and he’s still as handsome as ever at 11 years old. we went to petsmart to pick up some food and in typical bagel-fashion, the first thing he does when we walk in is pee on one of the shelves lol. i end the night by getting him my favorite ribeye from my favorite steakhouse (pellana). i got it cooked medium and gave him half for dinner. he loved it. last year was a steak from longhorn’s, so you know i had to up the ante for his 11th.

i am so thankful for bagel and overall just so grateful he was able to celebrate his special day with me.

i love him with all my heart.

i knew today was 9/11, but when i walked past the television, the caption flashed that it’s been 22 years since the attacks. damn. 22 years. that’s a long time, yet it feels like it was yesterday that i was in third grade watching it all happen. it still gives me chills thinking about it.

9/11 really changed the course of history, and thus our lives, too.

the colts lost to the jaguars, then the chargers lost to the dolphins. this is after yesterday when nebraska lost to colorado and uncc lost to maryland. on the bright side, i won in fantasy and i ate some maya.

i saw a commercial during the week that said maryland was playing uncc on primetime on nbc. i was surprised because maryland is big 10 and we are a smaller school with a new football program. we started the game strong with a 40+ yd td, then on the first maryland possession we had a pick 6. it was all downhill from there as we ended up losing 38-20, but i was hype off the fact we had a primetime game with a decent opponent.

we got a long way to go, but tonight was a step in the right direction for the program.

we walked to cafe luna for brunch today. it was my first time, but i had high expectations because i’ve heard it was good. i typically don’t go for brunch/breakfast food, but i gave it a shot. i got some lemon pancakes, pineapple juice, sausage, and a crab cake. the crab cake was $6, but it was delicious. the pancakes were unique because i’ve never had lemon flavored pancakes, but they were good nonetheless. the sausage patties were delicious, actually some of the best i’ve had.

all in all it was good, but i can’t help but to want some actual food like a burger and fries or some tikka.

after a work meeting ended at 3:40pm, i went to newbury street. i wanted to go to this store called riccardi. specifically because they have chrome hearts. i was greeted as soon as i opened the door, which is (sadly) unusual for these types of places. i asked where the chrome hearts were and they showed me to the rack. i like their hoodies a lot. to my surprise, the hoodies started at $675. sheeeeeeeeeeeesh. i looked over at the second rack and found a red hoodie i really liked. it was $1395! that’s crazy prices. i still thought about it, but not for long lmao. i could if i really wanted, but i want to be able to just because.

making the most of the sun, 9.6.23

i can visually tell the sun is setting earlier these days. when i get home from work, i rush to get bagel ready to go to the park. it usually means he eats a little later, but i don’t think he minds. i go to my room, take my shirt off, then switch to shorts. 10 minutes later, we’re at the park. we will do anywhere between 2-3 rounds, which is 1.3-1.8 miles. where i let him pee is a bunch of flowers and there is always a bunch of bees and gnats. i’ve been getting ate tf up. just 30 minutes at the park and i’ve been coming home with 4/5 new bites, even some welts, smh. a walk with bagel always helps to clear my mind, and it’s good for the physical. plus, my boy loves it.

and if he loves it, i love it.

just finished a crazy good workout at planet fitness. i’ve been so exhausted with everything going on that i’m actually proud i was able to get a good session in. afterwards, i went to chipotle. they took the al pastor off, so i got a regular chicken bowl. as i was eating it in my car in the parking lot, it tasted so plain. shit tasted like a diet. the al pastor was a game-changer, and i don’t know if i will enjoy chipotle the same from here on out.

the difference is so stark, i might not even return until the bring the al pastor back, smh.

i’m the commissioner of a fantasy football league. it was started last minute after talking with e. the draft was supposed to be at 9pm tonight, but when i randomized the draft order, q was talking about how he’s not in it. turns out he didn’t sign up, but with him signing up, we needed one more to make 12 teams so i called spence and got clint to sign up. we ended up drafting at 9:30pm. i like my team a lot, but the only thing missing is herbert. money took herbert a few picks before i did smhhhhh. whatever way it goes, i’m excited for this fantasy football season.

i’m hoping to win more than bragging rights, as the top pot is $400.

halloween decorations, 9.3.23

they got them super crazy halloween decorations out at tjmaxx and marshalls. i needa get my own place so i can get festive with it. that’s one thing i look forward to, and it can’t come soon enough.
