sleep living, 2.8.23

the past 48 hours i’ve gotten a total of 1.5 hours of sleep. i am exhausted. good thing tonight is an off night from the gym. i was going to do some cardio, but my walk with bagel earlier will have to suffice. whether or not i do a lot at work (which i did today) i always come home tired. a 9-5 just drains me. most of the week i’m running on e. then on the weekends i’m catching up.

and even then, i find myself tired of catching up.

on the horizon, 2.7.23

the sun used to set around 4:30pm. now when i get home shortly after 5pm, there’s a bit of sunlight waiting for bagel and i on our walk. i love it. spring is right around the corner, with summer following behind. i can’t wait.

we haven’t had a foot of snow in more than a year at this point, so we’re not in the clear yet, but i can tell you it only gets better from here.

the scoring record, 2.6.23

lebron just passed kareem for number 1 all-time in points scored. that’s actually kind of crazy. i always viewed kareem’s point record like stockton’s assist record: unbreakable. sometimes i take greatness for granted. i’ve been watching lebron since i was 10 years old. that’s a long-ass time. he definitely the king, but he’s not the black mamba because the black mamba is the goat.
i’m just saying.

but this is his moment, so kudos to him.

an eventful saturday evening, 2.4.23

we were headed downtown to the wang theatre to see impractical jokers live. when we get there, we park. as we head down, there is a crowd of people standing outside the theatre. mind you, it’s cold, perhaps the coldest day in boston thus far. it’s 1 degree, but with windchill it’s -19 degrees. we stand outside for 40 minutes. come to find out, it was so cold some pipes burst in the theatre causing a flood. we go back to the car, where it’s warm, and monitor twitter. a couple next to us does the same thing. 40 more minutes go by and the guy in the car next to us knocks on my window. he said they cancelled the show and rescheduled for april 29th. hungry, we look for food. we find a cambodian-french cuisine restaurant. it was strange seeing my native dishes on a menu in a major city, but i embraced it. the food wasn’t that good, but the passionfruit club soda was incredible. our waiter had a seizure but bounced back after a few minutes. it wasn’t in front of us, but we were notified by the manager. our waiter comes over and explains that he had a traumatic brain injury at the age of 13. then when he was 19, he had spinal meningitis. he said he was good to go after his neurologist took him off of a few meds. i’m glad he’s able to bounce back from those two things, because those are definitely scary situations. we ended the night going to jp licks. i got a cookies and cream frappe to end the night.

which didn’t end so bad after all.

the ribeye mango lassi combo, 2.3.23

after the gym, i couldn’t decide on a ribeye or indian food. it was payday so i treated myself to both. i went to longhorns, got the ribeye with fries and mac & cheese. then i went to maya to get a mango lassi and chicken tikka to go. the lassi is so damn good. it’s my second today because priyank went to punjab palace for lunch and got me a lassi earlier. i go through food phases obsessively and right now i’m a fiend for ribeyes and mango lassis.

despite being from two different cultures, that combo is undefeated.

new hampers, 2.2.23

my whole life, i’ve kept my dirty clothes in baskets in my closet. due to this, i’ve never had a traditional hamper. the thing is my closet is running out of space, and i could really use the room where my dirty clothes basket lies to hang more sweatshirts. so i went to target and bought two hampers. one for my colored clothes, the other for my whites. when i do laundry, there’s multiple different loads besides just colors and whites. i wash my tech fleece separate. then from there i split my colors into underwear/polyester, then the rest of the colors. i wash my towels separate. then i wash my whites. it’s a lot, but it’s something i’ve taken habit to. i learned to separate my whites from my colored in 7th grade when i wash and dried a white hoodie with a red shirt. it turned the hoodie pink and i’ve never looked back since.

gsk day 1, 2.1.23

though the merger was finalized in august, today marks the official day one of the integration. we had a walk-through training and afterwards there were small gifts for us upstairs in one of the conference rooms. they had cupcakes, a coffee mug, and a blanket. i don’t drink coffee, but i’ll take a free mug lol. plus, i can always use a good blanket.

especially because the windchill is supposed to put us in the negatives/single digits this weekend.

the maura murray billboard, 1.31.23

on my way home from work, i saw a maura murray billboard. i was surprised, but then again boston is the closest major metropolis to where she vanished. this is a case dbaze put me on to a few years ago, and it’s the case that he finds the most interesting. 19 years later, the family is still searching for answers like it is the first 48. honestly, to them every day probably feels like the first 48. similar to dbaze, the maura murray case is one that boggles my mind. how did her scent vanish into thin air when they brought the dogs? did she get picked up? why did she have that book about the white mountains in her car about people vanishing at the white mountains as she was driving to the white mountains? was there something she was hiding? was there foul play?

there are many unanswered questions and i can only help it won’t be much longer until the family finds closure.
