Gods of The Midnight

Record Label (Est. 2016)

Gods of The Midnight

began on a late night in 2016 while recording my first song I would ever put out titled August 2016. I wanted to make things as official as I could though I wasn’t signed. Looking back, maybe that was a good thing because it gave me creative freedom to design and develop a label that represented me instead of being obligated to associate with a label I had no creative input in. At the time, the only other creative endeavor I had was The Midnight Project, so I knew I wanted to keep the theme of midnight going. I thought about all the things I loved, who I was, and the things which symbolized my identity. One thing I feel God blessed me with is my birthday. Out of all the 365 days (366 on leap years), I would choose my birthday, April 22nd, if God gave me the choice in every lifetime. One, it’s Earth Day. Two, 04/22 has a nice ring to it. Three, the gemstone for being born in April is a diamond, which is my favorite of all the months. Four, being born after April 20th makes me a Taurus, which is also my favorite of all the zodiac symbols. I chose a Taurus to be the symbol of the label. Next was to bridge the gap between Taurus and Midnight. I read somewhere that we’re made of the same elements of the stars, therefore we’re as much a part of The Universe as it is of us. I think the same with God. Though we aren’t God, we were made in the image of God, therefore God is in all of us. I was hesitant to incorporate Gods into the name of the label so I talked to A$ about it one night when we lived off Kempsford. He said he didn’t see any problem with it if I felt that it fit. I went to bed that night thinking of all the other options outside of Gods, but it didn’t feel right to me.

The next day when I woke up, Gods of The Midnight was born.

Since then, every music release has been under Gods of The Midnight and I think I may love it more now than I did in 2016.

Not only do I feel it represents me, but it feels fitting as there is a deeper meaning behind the name.
